Salvador Dali -The famous Spanish artist, who pictures one of the ideals of Surrealism, was a native of northern Spain and spent maximum part of his life there only. You'll need to start from Girona which is the capital of Catalonia in Spain. When you visit here, you will be introduced with ancient Roman narrow streets that are made of cobblestone and contained a number of restaurants and shops. The place is good enough to remind you of old world charm and take you to past -- a time that belonged to 12th-century when the establishment of a Jewish quarters took place. Driving up further to Cadaques, you'll discover a small Mediterranean town where Dali used to visit frequently. If you drive ahead to Port Lligat, you will find a fishing village where Dali along with his wife named Gala had built a home. Dali has purchased this house while it was a small shack and added a lot to it through years. The end result of this was an eclectic assortment of rooms at seemingly odd angles. The houses are full of weird Dali-esque knick-knacks and include a giant polar bear that greets all visitors. The surrounding area of the house is extremely peaceful and quiet and the best area inside the house is the windows of Dali's studio that gaze out on the calm bay waters.

At last you must drive up to Figueres, the place where Dali helped design the museum-theater that displays a number of his works. The building itself is a huge manifestation that stands out quietly on an ordinary city street.
